Tuesday, 19.1., was a good day for bicycle messengers. The collective agreement was signed, while a Covid19-conscious crowd of colleagues and supporters outside also called for the participation of freelancers.

It doesn't always have to be corona. You work, you study, you are looking for future prospects, you may also have a family or a relationship that is not always easy. Life can be stressful, and there is few things that weigh more on our health than stress. You'll get sick. You need sick leave.

It is negotiation season again. The 2024 collective agreement should be better! The two-wheeled delivery community should become stronger than it is. We have big plans and want to aim high: Fair wages and good working conditions for all bicycle messengers.

You had an accident and can't work for a few days? Did you get wet in the last rain and are now cold and can (and should) therefore no longer cycle or work? Or have you injured yourself and now have no opportunity to work in the coming days? With a freelance employment contract, you are entitled to sickness benefit if you have worked above the minimum limit, or if you have insured yourself below the minimum limit.

Arthur Schreiber, CEO of Mjam, finds it justified to deny workers in the low-wage sector their rights as workers, since these jobs do not require any qualification and the many migrants who can be found in these jobs would otherwise not find a job. Here is our first statement
